was supposed to go after VBC last year but i think it was quite outta the way.
so anyway, fatboy and i took a train to vivo after church and had lunch at ljs, then we went jacket hunting and finally found a green mook jacket
haha love it fatty
(merry christmas to me)
we dropped by dhoby ghaut on the way back also to get my hairbands.
peace out.

TJC invitationals went ok.
we won the first debate (PRAISE THE LORD!) but lost the second one even though we had more points.
but i guess im not disappointed about the loss because i (and everyone else too) know that we did better than KC. kinda glad in fact.
so many thing i wanna say but i dont know how to put them in words.
such sensitive issues.
are better left.
unsaid.

i just read nicholas's emo post.
shuck. i also wanna cry alr.
haha well it got me thinking too.
but why think of the past as something that makes you sad?
when i was 3
i drank beer.. was in mummy's room. uhm. and i puked it all out after i downed it.
when i was 5
this boy kissed me on the cheek cause he wanted candy from me. uhm what's his name? sebestian?
when i was 6
ms ho and liu lao shi got bryant to feed me my birthday cake. dam.
when i was 7
mrs liew told us on the first day of school that nobody could draw a straight line without a ruler but junie said she could and drew a line. i didn't see the line, but mrs liew said it wasn't straight.
when i was 8
larvena, michelle, shu qi, wenkai, sherie and i used to play together a LOT.
when i was 9
frankly, i kinda don't remember being 9
when i was 10
i went to australia! i met ashley! beatrice and ching quarrelled because they didn't like each other but both wanted me to be their bestfriend.
when i was 11
yvette called me one morning and asked me how i tied my hair. xia xue called me one morning, asking for her mum. i told her she got the wrong number and that i was me. then she hung up. but she called back again realising that she wanted to speak to me not her mum.i went for H2O camp at plmgs.
when i was 12
i was the class leader with abigail. i got silver for 100m sprint during sports day. abigail and i had to lead the school in saying the pledge that day so we were backstage when they announced the results and gave out the prize. goodness, that year, i was made to run 100m, 200m and 400m. howwww cannot luh!!!
when i was 13
i learnt how to play bball. i learnt how to love someone. i drifted from God. there were conflicts over religion and i guess my mission trip to cambodia in december was the last straw. 38/39 people voted me for the student council but my schedule was too tight. 1C was the outstanding class.
when i was 14
i learnt what it was like to fall outta a relationship. i learnt how to look at the big picture. mummy and i were closer than before. i built lotsa friendships. aurial and i led the class into winning every single board design competition, we performed as a class on teacher's day and our class was outstanding once again. the guys in class treated me like a fellow brother. i owned yi qian in basketball. dance society and harmonica orchestra (part of it) sang me a birthday song in the stadium after sports heats. ultra touched. i went to australia again and learnt how to surf, bush dancing, had midnight pizza, smashed a cake into a birthday boy's face, hated inter-relations classes, fell asleep during faculty talks, played laser-wars, learnt how to say FAT in australian aboriginal language and truly enjoyed the one-month stay there.
when i was 15
mummy didn't want me to be in the class com due to the excessive amount of time i'd spent painting boards the year before. i joined the com as a functions I/C anyway, but toned down so that mummy wouldn't find out. she still did in the end. i went to cambodia again and that changed my life, or at least the way i perceived things. i learnt how to get certain things. i learnt what it was like to have something not work out the way i wished it did. i shook mrs nathan's hand. (haha big deal) i enjoyed all the times i emceed.there were times i felt special :) i saw what it was like to have lotsa money, and what it was like to have none. i enjoyed the times i taught the kids in chaingrai. i conquered a mountian.
now im 16 (or almost there)
who knows what's ahead?

the third week of school's coming to an end.
(bio lesson tmr morning)
i must say it's been another enriching week.
kinda.
enjoyed it quite a lot..last posted on tuesday night (but it was past 12am so it was chronicled under wednesday)
wednesday was special.
went to aunty cg's condo after school.
rushed to meet ching bout an hour later and we headed to church to meet judy.
and quite coincidentally, jake boarded the same bus!
so we all headed to church where jake mugged (as usual..) and ching and i conferenced with judy ;)
(well it was kinda just between ching and judy..)
after another hour or so, ching went down to mug with jakee and i prepared for sunday's caregroup with judy - which was really cool! cause i learnt alot! hehe. kinda excited for this sunday :D
that was my wednesday.
rachel (tkgs) and i shared cab home from tuition on thursday cause it rained (or drizzled rather) and she's sitting for entry test to McRob!
goodness itd just be really cool if she gets in.
cause they take in just a handful from singapore i heard. as in literally just a handful.
gotta be the cream of the crop.
crest of the wave.
roof of the house.
crown on the head.
cherry on the cake.
city on a hill..... haha.
as for myself, i guess at the end of the day, i wouldn't mind staying on in singpaore for another 2 years of JC, neither would i mind leaving home.
but ultimately, i pray that whatever choice i make would be what God wants me to choose.
i don't wanna be like jonah, who chose to go somewhere else when God told him to go to Nineveh. he got swallowed by the big fish where he stay for 3 days till he got released. quite amazing eh? and i believe it.
dad drove me to jia en's place to get notes and we talked about what's happening between singapore and thailand. we talked about diplomats. we talked about cheques. about having boyfriends (the normal your-expectations-will-change-as-you-grow-so-dont-get-serious-now talk) about the need to be independant. and.
it's rare that we talk like that cause we'd usually be on different frequencies. on inter-rels and cheques i listened. on some other things i had views that differed slightly, but kept them to myself. especially on the very last thing we talked about. though i completely disagreed, i guess sometimes it's better to keep silent.
dance SOCIETY lets me be who i wanna be.
love it.
i feel that if you have the ability to help someone who's in need, you should. and you shouldn't feel as though that person is taking advantage of you.
shows how much you've strayed.

been making up for my lack of sleep.
slept most of the weekend and yesterday, yet i wouldn't say they were unproductive days because i guess i knew how much i needed the rest.
what to say?
i cant even remember the last time i posted.
(though i doubt it was very long ago)
i know some of the people in class have already covered chapters that we haven't even touched on yet.
but i wouldn't say it scares me.
not yet at least.
it's not that i've covered more than what the teacher has, but i don't think there's a neccesity to move so fast.
dude if this is gonna be my last year here before i leave (IF i do), then i wouldn't wanna live to study. i mean if i study i wanna enjoy it..
not mug like a dog.

i don't feel like a sec 4.
went to church to study just now cause mummy had masterlife there.
it just felt like i was preparing for sec three end-of-years.
and yesterday as i flipped open my a math five-years-series, i just recalled the night before my a math paper at church with jake and uncle james across the table. and i was freaking out.
hahaha.
it's all so sec THREE!!
i miss the exam period! as in preparation for last years eoys.
dunno why but i felt more grown-up then.
sigh let things stay the way they are!
being sec 4 is intimidating.
it is!
so far.
it's tiring.. with silly social studies presentations. and english presentations that almost nobody gives a nut about. yet still the pressure to do well is there.
minghui was uber tired today.
i've been trying hard to stay awake the past 3 days.
caleb's school life is sooo.. distant. he doesn't even TALK to me.
he's just like my dad who doesn't communicate.
the day before he surprised me by replying with a four-message-long sms when i asked him how school was.
pretty cool.
35-minute lesson blocks are completely screwed up.
we have two periods of bio lessons per week.
almost equal to one period of bio lesson if we're going according to last years time table.
it's INSANE i tell you.
we have SIX friggin chinese blocks.
i demand an explanation.
dance was awesome today.
ok luh not awesome. but i enjoyed it.
didn't dance though XD
GOd is good!

God is Good! thursday night only gave me three hours of sleep. it was terrible. i was doing chinese till 2.30 in the morning then i decided to go to sleep.. fearing that i'd have not enough energy for school and dance the next day (yesterday). then just as i rested my head on the pillow i remembered that i hadn't done my Quiet Time. that put me in a dilemma. but i decided that hey, if i did His will, surely He'd work things out for me.
and so i did my QT till 0307hrs , praying that He'd sustain me the next day.
and true to His word, God provides and for the whole of yesterday till 9 plus ten i wasn't tired at all. and i even had energy to go work out with ching. was really really thankful.
Conversation of two paradigms. (a word that zhengyi learnt two weeks ago with the definition: The most annoying and misused word in the English language; used intentionally by stupid people to sound smart or by smart people to sound unintentionally stupid)
me: i saw mr hotneighbour!
zy: but im at home!
(meaning how could you have seen me??)
me: -_-' you're looking through a pair of PARADIGMS
zy:that's the wrong paradigm usage
me: shut up you paradigm
zy: dont talk back if not i paradigm you ah you paradigm
me: you're full of paradigms leh you. what in the paradigm did your paradigm teacher teach you during paradigm lessons?
zy: someting that's too paradigm for you to understand la.. only paradigm people like me know!
during yesterday's chem lesson..
mr yeow: who was last year's chem rep?
zy: kam hei! (pronounced chem hey but in actual fact come hey)
*whole class laughs*
mr yeow: who are you to speak for her? her boyfriend ah?
me: wha lau you're cheating on me!!!
went for a work out with ching yesterday.. pretty good. oh it was cca selection day for the sec ones. i think dance only took in like a handful of people. literally. didn't even hit half our quota of 20. and outta the ppl we took in only 2 can dance. pathetic. as in ourcondition. owell.
i finished 5 and a half chinese compositions in a matter of 2 days. 6 and a half more to go. and i've gotta finish everything by sunday night.
went to see the doc with mummy today causethe swell on my eye was somehow aggravated. and the doctor poked it with the terribly sharp needle. so glad i didn't wear my lenses otherwise i'd seen how sharp the needle actually was. i was half blind when he did it. could feel the pressure in the swel decreasing as pus oozed out. it's still swelly though. good thing the swell was on my eye so i didn't actually see the pus. if it were on my foot or arm or toe or wadeva i'd have seen the white liquid coming out. GROSS. yuck. and the doctor did it TWICE. *shivers.
kk. time to do chinese. GROSS. yuck. and i have 7 more to go!

some lessons started today some didn't.
anyway, i went running with mingsy in the morning before school cause school started at 9 today..
thursdays without common tests really OWN.
im pretty happy with the language teachers i got this year... in fact, im really happy.
today i just felt so motivated to do well for chinese.. and i actually started worrying seriously about my chinese o levels. unbelievable eh? case you were wondering, we got mdm tham for chinese this year. no need to secretly run from class to four L anymore.
wheeee...

she just marred her own image.
embarrassedme so much.
i'd go into detail, but i'd rather not divulge anything more.
just simply infuriating.
galling in fact. am rather embittered right now.
it's a mixed feeling of disappointment anger and frustration.
stop
todaywas a really good day in school.
pretty good for a first day.
lotsa things i wanna thank God for.
for a cheery and encouraging form teacher - mrs ganesan!
and things are alright between yvette and i now.. as in, i don't exactly know what happened that caused the growing animmosity, but whatever it was, seems like it left just as silently as it came together with the past year.
never knew it'd feel so good to just get everything back in place.
the school's changed back to the thirtyfive minute block lessons again. which i think is a real waste of time. honestly.
and no more week a week b.
good thing? school starts at nine every alternate thursday.
meaning that we only need to be in school by 0850.
and school doesn't even end late.
apparently it seems as though the sch management board or someone somewhere up the line has been analysing our results and stuff cause dr boon finally said sthg other than "you are the top 10%".. she said "therefore, in 2007 you are going to be AWARE of your weakness number ONE - you are LAZY!"
haha and ms cheong finally said something right.. that boys sit in front of the computer "fighting wars that don't make sense"
lol. and mr chua who gave us a one-hour talk on discipline started by saying "those of you at the back, i don't want to stand on the stage, i hope you all can see me.. this is the best i can do"
hahahaha uber funny.
rushed to tuition after school.. then came home and went running with kev. its been waaaaay long since we held a proper conversation!! anyway it was good catching up on stuff.
i finally got to say hi to tan tai har. is that how you spell the teacher's name? anyhow, she seems to remember being in the same hall as the person who's cooking dinner in the kitchen now. don't make sense?
go figure.
how was YOUR first day?Labels: first day of the school year

finally cleaned up my room today i justfeel like shutting it up forever so that the dust willnever come in.. it took me the whole morning and a good half of the afternoon.
oh there was this short but terribly amusing conversation contributed by mum dad and me.
shant go into detail cause we don't know who'd be embarrassed BUT.. DADDY SAYS I CANT MARRY AN ANGMOH!!!
hahahahha... *shakes head. random stuff.
(actually that's not the best part but nvm)
wonder what the first week of school holds.

this past year has been really eventful.. one in which i've learnt and grown alot.
fruit asked me howi'd spent the past year and i decided to post some pix on what went on.
from fooling around in class..
to disturbing teachers..
helping mummy with her sunday school class..
mugging with jake..
going to hongkong..
emceeing for teacher's day.. the fengshan forum.. for project runway.. graduation ceremony and sec 1 orientation concert.
studying with ching..
catching up with didi..
going to chiangrai with the best people you can find in ahs
meeting up with amy again
to climbing a mountain.
from illegally entering another class for chinese lesson
to staying back after school for extra chem help
being locked outta the house on a wednesday afternoon
enjoying dance for the first time
getting the second last postition in class
to moving up by nine
failing physics
to getting an a1
passing chinese
to failing it.
ahwell, next year would be the crux of the past ten years of education.
any resolutions? haha, tough one that.
english A1
math A1
a math A1
chinese B3
higher chinese PASS
bio A1
physics A1
chem A2
literature/ss A2
sigh.. it's looking really difficult now. so many A1s. and even if i acheive what i just typed, i'd only get 7 points. not even a six.
guess i really gotta submit the whole of next year to the Lord.
no distractions.
just God, me and work.
eh but i wanna watch death note 2!
haha no luh, guess it wouldn't really matter if i missed that cause i've enjoyed the past holiday immensely. loved it in fact.
well it's a new year, let's hope 3G gets better teachers and that the saltshakers will be guided by a cgl that we really need.
peace out.
elisa.
